Guangdong Province is located at the southern tip of mainland China, neighboring South China Sea, Hong Kong and Macao; it has the most prosperous, active and open economy in China.Since the reform for over 30 years, Guangdong has achieved rapid sustained economic growth by fully utilizing favorable human, geographical and policies. To be exact, in 2009, its GDP increased by 9.5% with a total amount of RMB 3,908.1 Billion Yuan which accounted for 11.6% of the country’s GDP and ranked first for the 21st consecutive year.At present, enterprises from more than 100 countries and regions have made investments in Guangdong, while Guangdong enterprises have made investments in over 90 countries and regions throughout the world. In addition, its import and export trade volume has ranked first in China for the 24th consecutive year.
Guangdong has a sound industrial system possessing world state-of-the-art capabilities of production, processing and supporting. It has 9 pillar industries (namely electronic information, electrical machinery, petrochemical, textile and clothing, food and beverage, building material, logging and papermaking, medicine and auto industries) as well as other Hi-tech industries. All these industries have formed many internationally competitive industrial clusters in aspects of electronic information, home appliance, fashion, furniture and metal works. Moreover, 80% of cell phone parts, 90% of computer parts as well as 100% of color television parts can be produced in Guangdong. |
